Deadlines

Make sure you're registered to vote by October 5th at 11:59pm.

Your request for an absentee ballot must be received by October 23rd.

Exceptions for emergencies: emergency voting may be available if you have a hospitalization, death in the family, last-minute job obligation, or other emergency after 5pm the Friday before the election. Contact your county's elections office directly for more details if you need to use this option.

When you return your ballot, it needs to be RECEIVED by Election Day, so pop it in the mail by October 27th to make sure it has enough time.

FYI: Changes at the Post Office

This is important: USPS recently changed its policies and won’t always postmark mail the same day it’s picked up from a mailbox — or even the day after. To guarantee a same-day postmark, you’ll need to go to a post office and ask for a manual postmark. All the more reason to mail things early!

Instructions

Include your place of birth, driver's license number, or the last 4 digits of your SSN in the designated area.

Put it in the return envelope provided.

Sign and date the envelope where indicated. Your signature should be the same one you used to register to vote.

Make sure everything is sealed up!

Don't worry about putting a stamp on it - Arizona pays postage for you!

Pop it in the mail. It must be RECEIVED on or before Election Day, so put it in the mail at least 7 days before (or earlier if possible!) to ensure it arrives in time. Alternatively, you can drop it off at your county recorder's office and elections department, or if you like to live by the seat of your pants, you can take it to your polling place on Election Day. But don't push the envelope on this, get it in early!

If you need someone to drop off your ballot for you, they need to be a member of your family or a caregiver.
