FYI: Changes at the Post Office
This is important: USPS recently changed its policies and won’t always postmark mail the same day it’s picked up from a mailbox — or even the day after. To guarantee a same-day postmark, you’ll need to go to a post office and ask for a manual postmark. All the more reason to mail things early!
Instructions
Put your ballot in the return envelope provided.
Sign and date the envelope where indicated! Your signature should be the same one you used to register to vote.
Don't worry about putting a stamp on the envelope — California pays your postage!
Drop off or mail your ballot by 8pm on Election Day, November 3rd. Ballots postmarked by Election Day will be counted if received by November 10th.
You can take your absentee ballot to your polling place on Election Day if that's closer than a drop box or mailbox...but don't delay!
