Deadlines

Make sure you're registered to vote by October 26th to get a mail ballot. If you miss this deadline, you can still register, but you'll have to vote in person.

Ballots must be RECEIVED by 7pm on Election Day, so make sure to put your ballot in a mailbox by October 27th if you can, or in a dropbox by 7pm on Election Day. Dropboxes will be available starting October 12th, so get 'em in there early!

FYI: Changes at the Post Office

This is important: USPS recently changed its policies and won’t always postmark mail the same day it’s picked up from a mailbox — or even the day after. To guarantee a same-day postmark, you’ll need to go to a post office and ask for a manual postmark. All the more reason to mail things early!

Instructions

Put your completed ballot in the return envelope.

Some voters will have to provide a copy of an ID with their ballot. If that's you, your ballot will come with instructions.

Seal and sign the return envelope. Your signature should match the one on file with your registration.

Put enough postage on the envelope for its weight. Two stamps should cover it, but Colorado doesn't specify because different ballots weigh different amounts.

Mail your ballot early enough that it is RECEIVED by Election Day, or drop your ballot off at your polling place by 7pm on Election Day.

Dropboxes will be available starting in mid-October, so get 'em in there early!

Someone else can drop off your ballot for you, as long as they aren't delivering more than nine ballots total.
