Deadlines

Make sure you’re registered to vote by October 23rd at 5pm.

Ballots must be received by 8pm on Election Day — postmarks don’t count! So if you’re mailing yours, we recommend putting it in the mail by October 27th to make sure it arrives by the deadline. Or you can drop it in a drop box.

FYI: Changes at the Post Office

This is important: USPS recently changed its policies and won’t always postmark mail the same day it’s picked up from a mailbox — or even the day after. To guarantee a same-day postmark, you’ll need to go to a post office and ask for a manual postmark. All the more reason to mail things early!

Instructions

Put your ballot in the return envelope provided and seal it.

Sign the return envelope where indicated and write your contact info where indicated too.

Add the last 4 digits of your Utah driver’s license, Utah state ID, or Social Security number where indicated.

Take it to a ballot dropbox near you by 8pm on Election Day.

Some counties require you to put a stamp on your ballot return envelope and some counties pay the postage for you. So check the instructions that came with your ballot.

If you’re mailing your ballot, it needs to be received by Election Day so don’t wait! Mail that baby early, by October 27th if you can.

Or you can drop your ballot at an early voting location or at your polling place on Election Day.

If you need someone to return your ballot for you, it needs to be someone from your household, unless you have a disability in which case you can authorize someone to drop it off for you.
